How to add a new service type. Step 2: Payment methods

In this second part of the guide, we’ll continue configuring your new service type by setting up payment methods and trip calculation options. These settings are essential—they define how fares are calculated and how payments are processed, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

1. Order Total Calculation

Start by selecting the “Order total calculation” method that best suits your business model:

• Enabled – The system automatically calculates trip cost based on taximeter logic and your configured fee settings (e.g., per-minute, per-kilometer rates).
• Disabled – The system does not calculate trip cost. Instead, the driver enters the fare manually based on their car’s physical taximeter.

⚠️ Important: If you choose to disable order total calculation, be aware of the risk of drivers modifying or entering inaccurate trip costs.

2. Enable Dynamic Pricing (Optional)

If you’re using dynamic pricing to adjust fares during high-demand periods, enable it in this section.

💡 The Starting Bonus feature, which allows customers to offer a bonus to drivers at the start of a trip, is not available in Onde.Light. This is because Onde.Light does not include a customer app, which is required for this feature to function.This feature is available in the paid Onde platform, which provides full passenger app capabilities and additional customization options.

3. Fixed Cost Option

Enable the “Fixed cost” toggle if you want trips to have a predetermined, locked-in price once both the pick-up and drop-off addresses are entered.

• With Fixed cost enabled, the fare is calculated in advance and does not change during the trip—even if the route or duration changes.
• With Fixed cost disabled, or if no drop-off is entered, the trip fare is calculated based on real-time data: actual distance and time traveled.
