To add a new service one should navigate to tab “Services” in the Management section of My hub and tap on “Add service” at the top right corner of the screen.

For previous steps check the posts:

Step 1: General Settings

Step 2: Payment methods

The third step in service configuration is setting up Fee Settings, which determine how trip costs are calculated and what additional fees apply.

This section includes the configuration of:

- Meter modes

- Customer cancellation policy

- Driver cancellation policy

- Free cancellation settings (for both drivers and customers)

- Let’s go over the “Regular rate” parameters.

Meter modes (Regular rate services)

You can choose from two available meter modes:

  • Time + Mileage
The system calculates the trip fare by adding the cost of the distance traveled (per kilometer or mile) and the time spent on the trip (per minute). This total is added to the flag down fee (base fare).

  • Time or Mileage
The system chooses between time-based or distance-based pricing, depending on the vehicle's speed. If the vehicle speed is lower than the configured speed threshold, fare is calculated per minute. If the speed exceeds the threshold, fare is calculated per kilometer. At the end of the trip, both values are added together.

The minimum allowed speed threshold is 2 km/h (1.24 mi/h).

  • Per Minute

This is the charge applied for every minute of the trip.

  • Per Kilometer
This is the charge applied for every kilometer traveled.

Fare components explained

  • Flag Down Fee

This is the base fare added at the start of the trip, sometimes referred to as the “seat price.”

  • Minimum Cost

This sets the lowest fare a customer can be charged, no matter how short the trip is.

  • Maximum Cost

This optional setting allows you to cap the total trip cost if there are local regulations requiring a price limit.

  • Additional Fee

This is used to cover any extra charges, such as VAT or other regulatory fees. You can configure this fee to be included in the total price, added on top of it, or not used at all.

Fee calculation type – can be set as dynamic (any value in percent within 0 - 100% range) or fixed (any flat value from 0.1 to 999,999,999,999,999).

Fee amount - any value in accordance with the fee type. More details are shared in Customer additional fee post.

Additional fee name - the custom name of the fee.

Let's look at examples with different settings of the Meter mode function👇🏼

Regular rate calculation in Time + mileage mode

Let’s say you set the following:
Per kilometer rate: $0.50

Per minute rate: $0.40
Flag down fee: $3.00
Minimum cost: $3.00

A trip that lasts 2.5 minutes and covers 2 kilometers would cost:
2 km × $0.50 = $1.00

2.5 minutes × $0.40 = $1.00
Plus flag down fee = $3.00
Total = $5.00

If there's an additional 10% fee applied, the total becomes $5.50.

Regular rate calculation in Time or mileage mode

Let’s assume the following settings:

Speed threshold: 20 km/h

Per kilometer rate: $0.50
Per minute rate: $0.40
Flag down fee: $3.00

If the driver is stopped at a red light for 30 seconds (0.5 min) and then drives 2 km at a steady 30 km/h:

The first part (0.5 min) is charged per minute = 0.5 × $0.40 = $0.20
The remaining distance (2 km) is charged per km = 2 × $0.50 = $1.00
Plus flag down fee = $3.00
Total = $4.20
Add 10% fee = $4.62

🤓Tips: “Time or mileage” taximeter mode is useful for areas with heavy traffic situations and multiple regulated crossroads. Keep this in mind when choosing a meter mode.
