The driver app is a powerful tool that processes a lot of data in real time. To ensure a smooth working experience, drivers should follow these simple tips to keep the app running properly.
If you see a splash screen when opening the driver app, it means the app was completely closed instead of running in the background. Some drivers think the app closes by itself, but this is not the case.
The app can only be closed in two ways:
- Manually – When the driver closes the app
- By the smartphone – If the phone forces it to stop
Your phone might automatically close the driver app if:
- Battery saving mode is on
- There is not enough RAM memory
- Other heavy apps (like games) are running while on shift
☝️Tip: To avoid this, drivers should avoid running unnecessary apps while working and clear their phone cache regularly.
Even when your phone is in sleep mode, the driver app still works in the background. There’s no need to restart the app to receive jobs. However, keep in mind:
- Job alerts may be quieter in sleep mode – Make sure your phone volume is at the maximum.
- Check your phone regularly while on shift – Avoid letting it stay in sleep mode for too long.
Here’s how they can do it:
For Android: Go to Settings > More > Applications Manager > DriverApp > and make sure “Show notifications” is checked.
For iOS: Go to Settings > Notifications > DriverApp > and switch on all notifications.
